Dana Webber Design Group together with Mindy Gayer Design, have completed a new modern farmhouse on Bainbridge Island in Washington State.
The exterior of the home features tight knot cedar tongue and groove siding, finished in a black stain, and an accent of white board and batten siding.
Black-framed glass doors welcome visitors to the home, where they’ll find the entryway.
On one side of the entryway is a mud room, where built-in benches, and storage nooks provide a place to keep jackets and shoes organized.
On the other side of the entryway is a hallway that leads to the living room and dining area. Folding doors open the living room to the patio outside, while large windows provide uninterrupted views of the water.
The dining room shares the same space as the living room, and is anchored in the open floor plan by a horizontal light feature.
In the kitchen, the color palette includes greys and white, with an apron sink adds to the farmhouse look of the home, and a large island adds room for people to sit and socialize while cooking.
Folding windows in the kitchen open to reveal the bar that acts as a pass-through from the kitchen to the alfresco dining area.
Back inside, and there’s secondary living room with built-in cabinetry and a fireplace.
At the top of the stairs, there’s access to a home office with built-in shelving.
The dark shelving surrounds a door that leads to the home office with matching dark walls.
A bridge, that is brightened by a skylight and a large section of windows, connects the home office with a casual entertaining room and bunk room.
In the casual living room, built-in window seats are located on either side of the television area, while multiple pendant lights keep the room bright.
A sliding barn door opens to reveal a room with custom-designed bunk beds, each with a built-in shelf at the head of the bed, and a minimalist wood ladder for easy access.
In another bedroom, an angled wood accent wall provides a natural touch to the room and adds a sense of warmth.
The home has multiple bathrooms, like this one, that has a glass-enclosed walk-in shower. By having a glass shower surround, it allows the natural light from the window to fill the room.
In another bathroom, the walls have been lined with wood and accented by black detailing, like the mirror frames, wall hooks, and cabinet hardware.
