This Backyard Home Office Covered In Ivy Was Designed For A Creative Writer

Matt Gibson Architecture + Design completed a small backyard office for a creative writer in Melbourne, Australia.

The Boston ivy-covered “Writer’s Cabin” blends in with the lush surroundings of the yard, and has a large picture window as well as a skylight to let natural light filter in.

The door of the 107 square foot (10 sqm) backyard home office opens to reveal a plywood interior with shelving, angles, and a large desk, while the concrete slab supports engineered wood flooring, and the ceiling includes strips of light.
