SAV Architecture + Design has recently completed a new house in Siolim, India, and as part of the design, they created a sunken living room.
The curved living space with its amphitheater-like seating, is sunken into the polished concrete floor that surrounds it, and is designed to be in line with the level of the pool outside.

The double height glass doors slide and fold to open connect the sunken living room with the outdoor spaces.

At night, the sculptural lighting above the sunken lounge provides a soft glow to the seating, that includes a custom-designed couch that fits the curves of the sunken lounge.
